Tomorrow morning I will be taking over the first 40 Day Journey team to Nairobi Kenya to serve alongside of Fountain of Life Church for 36 days. We have been in training since Thursday, preparing our hearts and covering pre-trip details. I wanted to take this opportunity before our departure to introduce this first team of four young adults who are excited about this opportunity to serve and to see how this experience challenges them to faithfully follow Christ as his disciples.
"I'm excited to see God working in and through our team to live out this life of service to the poor that Jesus calls us to. I've already seen him at work to get me this far, working out problems getting the right medication at affordable prices, the right appointments, and he is continuing to provide financially. I'm sure this will continue and I know our time in Africa will be eye-opening. I look forward to bringing our experiences back to testify of what God is doing in the hopes that it will also touch and uplift others." ~Ben
"This will be my first time going overseas and although I am a bit nervous about what to expect, I am very excited to see the ways that God is going to work in me and through me during this trip. During my walk with God it has become evident that Jesus calls his followers to love and care for the poor and I think this trip is going to be such a great opportunity to do so." -Krystle Chipman
"I feel so honored to get to lead a team of young adults so dedicated to their journey with God and so passionate about their pursuits in learning to care for the poor. I think its amazing the way God has brought this team together and I am excited to see the way he works in us and through us over while in Kenya. Please continue to pray for us as we prepare for our journey over the next few days." ~Tanya Mancheno
"I'm really stoked to see what God will have for us in Nairobi. I'm not really sure what to expect except that I'm sure we have a lot to learn from out brothers and sisters in Nairobi about what it means to follow God. Please pray that we would be learners and that God would be blessing whoever we interact with. My prayer is that people would be touched out of an overflow of God's love through us not through our own effort." ~Ryan
